"ImmoralMinority" (araimondo)

I traversed the Valley floor through farm country, then took twisty Hwy 198 over the mountains west to King City. Morning meeting in Greenfield, lunch meeting in Salinas, and home over the Pacheco Pass. I am already in love with this car, and was smiling the whole way. Bravo, Volkswagen. Oppo, the governments of the world have failed us. In reparation for the diesel fraud, each driveway should have a manual GTI.
The car has a neat feature - SD card reader. I loaded 15000 songs on a 128 GB SD card and my car is now a jukebox.
This was one of my best decisions ever.

well you know what that means.... time for a roadtrip... no stopping till every song has played
its relaxing
(granted i usually do that with 20 to 30 songs but more is better and more relaxinger right)

On my old Jetta that SD slot was for the Nav map package, is that still true? I elected to forgo said nav and just dropped an SD card full of music in there as well.

On my Superb I've two SD slots and a CD player in the top of the glove box. The maps are stored on the head unit and updated via WiFi, SD card or DVD.

Dunno, mine was the previous gen (2013) the SD slot was right under the touch screen. I still remember when the the sales guy asked android or iphone? Apparently that generation car had the older style apple connector in the armrest and that made a lot of iphone users grumpy. As an android user I didn’t care too much.

With 15,000 songs even at a quite short 3 min per song average, that 45,000 minutes of playback is 750 hours. So that could roughly be 40-50k miles of cruise time. I think that would be enough for a round trip of the entire continent.

Definitely gotta take that car down 58 and/or 41 ASAP! I was thoroughly impressed with the Mk7 that I had rented, it is definitely a great car. The FWD somewhat bothered me but I think with proper tires it would do a lot better in the grip while accelerating department. Truly special in the canyons while also being super comfortable/livable on the highway. If I cared about comfort and interior quality, 100% hands down would choose a GTI over my STi.
